AUSSIES DOMINATE IN DENMARK

World records, gold medals, personal bests and smiles despite some heavy rain conditions.

The six Aussies who have competed in the Frame Running International Camp and Cup in Copenhagen, Denmark have certainly done the green and gold proud!

Competition has wrapped on the three-day event, with a swag of medals won.

South Australia’s Thomas Mattinson won a staggering four gold medals, taking out the U14 200m RR2 Final, with fellow Aussie Arran Keith nabbing silver.

In the U14 100m RR2 Final, it was a 1-2 for Australia again, with Thomas securing gold in a new PB time of 25.71, and Arran taking out the silver.

Incredibly, the pair continued their winning run in the U14 400m RR2 Final, with Thomas winning gold and Arran the silver medal.

Thomas also won gold in the U14 60m RR2 Final in a very fast time of 15:62.

Arran also claimed gold in the U14 800m RR2 Final with a new PB time.

Queensland’s Isabella Auld won a gold in the 40m RR1 Final and a silver in the Senior 60m RR1 Final.

NSW’s Kim Neuenkirchen won three silver medals – in the Senior Ladies 200m RR2 Final, the Senior Womens 400m RR2 Final as well as the 1500m RR2 Final.

Also a big congratulations to Malcolm Wilson from QLD who completed his first 1500m race, winning bronze in the RR3 Final.

The Final of the Senior 100m RR3 lived up to expectations with four ladies all within a second at the finish line.

Maria Strong won a bronze medal, with the first three all under world record time, but unfortunately times were too wind-assisted to go into the record books.

In the 1500m finals, Maria broke the world record by an astonishing 20 seconds, setting a new time of 5:26:48.

It was a huge medal haul from this year’s event and the team is already looking forward to taking on the world in 2023.
