Down Syndrome Queensland runs to raise funds
Twenty-nine (29) people helped support Down Syndrome Queensland (DSQ) in this year’s Bridge to Brisbane race by joining Team DSQ to help raise over $18,000 for the community organisation.
Participants along with their family and friends joined together to compete whilst wearing DSQ shirts with the intention of increasing awareness of the organisation and its mission.
DSQ CEO, Darryl Steff said, “It was a fantastic event where we could join together as a community and help raise much needed awareness for the work that we do at Down Syndrome Queensland.”
DSQ’s mission is to build community awareness and to support, advocate for and empower people with Down syndrome in order for them to take their rightful place as valuable and contributing members of their local and global community.
DSQ offered to cover registrations costs if Team DSQ Bridge to Brisbane members pledged to raise a minimum of $250. Some of Team DSQ went well and truly beyond this request with one individual raising over $8000! If you would like to donate to Team DSQ click here.
