Source Kids Magazine – Spring 2026
Spring is here, and this issue brings together the emotional and practical sides of disability parenting.
No-one gets what our days are like quite like another disability parent, and our contributors Bec and Monique open up about the things that sit underneath the day-to-day of caring. Bec writes about medical parenting, grief, and finding her way back to herself. Monique tackles the question most of us try not to think about too hard: who will know and look out for our kids when we’re not around to do it all ourselves?
We also meet Christine in our Source Family Q&A. She’s honest about the mental load of caring — the constant juggling and recalculating — and what gets her through the hard days. Her reminder that a hard day doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong is one that will resonate with many of us!
There’s practical support too, with a focus on making medical experiences less stressful for kids and families: medical anxiety, clown doctors, products that ease the load during hospital stays, and the support available in hospitals beyond the ward.
And with spring here, we’re getting out and about — bikes and riding, plus advice on therapy, slow processing speed, Noonan syndrome, and an important reminder to look after yourself too.
Happy reading!
