Northcott and Montrose to join forces

Disability service providers Northcott and Montrose have announced plans to merge, saying it will enhance support and therapy options for young people with disability.
Montrose, which has centres across South East Queensland, will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Northcott from July 1.
The two organisations say the partnership will ensure existing Montrose customers continue to receive high quality services and supports, as well as providing opportunities for new services to be made available over time.
Montrose therapists and support workers will continue to provide services under the Montrose name from the existing facilities.
Northcott already provides services to more than 15,500 people with disability, their families and carers each year from metropolitan and regional locations throughout NSW and the ACT.

Montrose CEO Kerrie Mahon says the merger will provide opportunities for the service to “significantly grow” in Queensland.
“Montrose and Northcott deeply value people with disability,” she says. “We are proud to be a place where people can come and be looked after. In coming together, we aim to continue our important work for Montrose clients and to significantly grow the support Montrose provides for Queenslanders living with disability.”
Rotary started both organisations more than 90 years ago, to help children during the polio epidemic. Montrose was known as the Queensland Society for Crippled Children and Northcott as the NSW Society for Crippled Children.

Montrose Therapy & Respite Services provides supports to children and young adults with a wide range of complex disabilities and conditions including physical disabilities, neuromuscular conditions, developmental delay, intellectual disability and autism.
Montrose provide physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, support coordination and social work support, along with short stay and medium stay accommodation and a lifestyle and leisure service.
Montrose are based in South East Queensland with centres across Brisbane South, Brisbane North, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Slacks Creek, Ipswich and Toowoomba.
